David Urban is an American politician and lobbyist. He currently works as a political commentator for CNN and executive vice president of corporate affairs for North America at ByteDance. David previously served as a senior advisor to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
He also helped organize the 2016 Republican National Convention in a successful bid to win Pennsylvania. In May 2018, President Trump appointed David to serve on the board of the American Battle Monuments Commission. Then in July 2018, Trump appointed him as ABMC chairman. In 2020, David served as a consultant to Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.
Trump appointed David to the US Military Academy Board of Visitors in August 2019. However, in September 2021, David was suspended by President Biden as part of the removal of Trump-appointed members of the Board of Visitors of the Military Academy, who were deemed by Biden to be unqualified for such positions.
